How do I delete my account?+
Open the app, go to the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom, and tap 'Delete Account'. Your profile, photos, messages and preferences are deleted within 30 days. If you can't sign in, see the section below.
My face verification keeps failing.+
Take the selfie in good lighting, looking straight at the camera, with no sunglasses or face covering. Make sure at least one of your profile photos clearly shows your face. The verification screen tells you the confidence score we got — if it's close (say 60–70%) try a clearer selfie; if it's very low, the photos likely show different people.
I bought call minutes but my balance didn't go up.+
Force-close the app and re-open it — the balance refreshes when the chat screen mounts. If it still hasn't appeared after 5 minutes, email us with your Paystack reference and we'll grant the minutes manually.
How do referral points work?+
You get points whenever someone you referred completes face verification. Points convert to call minutes or to a month of premium at rates shown in the Refer & Earn screen. Your referral link is paused while your own face verification is inactive.
Why can't I make calls?+
Calling requires your face to be verified (the caller's — the person you're calling doesn't need to be verified to receive). If you're verified but the button is still greyed out, you may be out of call minutes; tap to top up or wait for next month's allocation.
How do I report someone?+
Open the chat with them (or their profile) and tap the three-dot menu in the top right, then 'Report'. We review every report.
Delete your account
You can delete your 9jaMeet account, your profile, your photos and your message history at any time. We complete deletion within 30 days of your request.
In the app (fastest)
Open 9jaMeet → Profile tab (bottom right) → scroll down → Delete Account → confirm.
By email (if you can’t sign in)
Send a message from the email address tied to your account to support@9jameet.com.ng with the subject Delete my account. We’ll confirm within 1 business day and complete deletion within 30 days.
Safety
We take user safety seriously. A few baseline rules — see our Terms of Service for the full list:
- Keep first conversations in the app — don’t share personal contact info too early.
- Meet in public, well-lit places for the first date. Tell a friend.
- Never send money to anyone you’ve met on 9jaMeet.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it is. Report and block.
